Last Chance Corral501(c)3 not for profit organization | Athens, OH “The Last Chance Corral has been rescuing horses since 1985. Each year we take in approximately 150 orphaned foals, a coincidental “byproduct” of the Thoroughbred racing industry. These foals’ mothers are then leased out to raise a Thoroughbred baby while their own foals are simply slaughtered so that the Thoroughbred mare can go and get rebred. The Last Chance Corral intervenes on their behalf (or as many as we possibly can). The newborns are brought to our facility where we perform triage and provide “preschool”.
