Last Chance Corral

501(c)3 not for profit organization | Athens, OH
Vote for Last Chance Corral!

The Last Chance Corral has been rescuing horses since 1985. Each year we take in approximately 150 orphaned foals, a coincidental “byproduct” of the Thoroughbred racing industry. These foals’ mothers are then leased out to raise a Thoroughbred baby while their own foals are simply slaughtered so that the Thoroughbred mare can go and get rebred. The Last Chance Corral intervenes on their behalf (or as many as we possibly can). The newborns are brought to our facility where we perform triage and provide “preschool”. Once they are stabilized the orphans are then available for adoption. When placed, this allows us to recycle our space and resources to rescue more foals. In addition …” Vote for Last Chance Corral!

Vote for Angel’s Rest!

AngelsRest_03Founded in 2009, Angel’s Rest Animal Sanctuary’s current mission is to provide a “retirement home” for animals that are unwanted or otherwise deemed unadoptable by other agencies and have no place to go.  These animals are in imminent danger of being euthanized or killed because they are critically ill, old, disabled, have suffered emotional trauma or have special needs.  Angel’s Rest is currently seeking to expand its existing operation to allow us to take in large and barnyard animals such as horses, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks…” Vote for Angel’s Rest!

Serenity Horse Rescue

A 501(c)3 not for profit organization | Springboro, OH
Vote for Serenity Horse Rescue facebook page!

SerenityRescue-smSerenity Horse Rescue is currently home to over 45 rescued equines. We rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out horses to forever homes and for those that aren’t adoptable, we provide a sanctuary program where they can live out the rest of their days surrounded by our loving volunteers. The barn we lease, though adequate now, is quickly becoming much too small. We need our own facility to provide care for more horses that need help but we don’t have the money. The horses’ interests are our number one priority and if just our hearts could provide, they would want for nothing.” Vote for Serenity Horse Rescue!

The Equihab Foundation

501(c)3 Horse welfare organization | North East, MD
Vote for Equihab!

equihabShould Equihab be awarded these funds they will go specifically into our new program, the Hay Bank for this winter. Horse owners who have lost their jobs or were injured can apply for short-term supply of hay to help them through the rough patch. This is the first year we’ve started the Hay Bank. We’ve found a great hay supplier & storage area and developed a plan — all we need now is the funding. Equihab does not deal in volume. But what we do is give a life-long commitment to any horse who enters our program. The horse remains with us until a suitable good home is found. We do home checks in person & follow up aftterwards. We deliver the horse to be sure he’ll settle in ok. And we do follow...” Read more & vote for Equihab!
