Brady rocks the arena!

I decided recently Brady should get some more ground work attention. We usually take him on walks and brush him, even tack him up for his walks. But I think it’s time for me to ask a little more of him. Not too much more, just some trotting and some ground poles. Using his brain a bit in small chunks.
Well, Brady did GREAT last night! We did some basic walk/trot longeing, going over ground poles, yielding of the hind quarters, changing directions, those kind of things. He did really well and stayed focused the entire time! It wasn’t long, maybe 20-25 minutes, but that’s ok, it’s a great starting point.
The last thing we did really made Brady use his brain… I love doing these type of exercises with horses. So I walked him, 1 hoof at a time, over a ground pole. Every time he put a hoof over, we stopped and relaxed, then I asked him for another hoof. Brady really did very well, and I could see him thinking and processing what I was asking – which I love to see! I was very impressed to see how much thought he put into where his hooves were, what I was asking and what he was doing.
I was very impressed with Brady.. He really wants to please, and really wants to figure out what you’re asking him. I’m lucky to have such a great baby
