Our vet came out last week to give spring shots, do coggins, the usual. We just had Brady’s coggins done in December since we moved to the new barn (from IN to KY), so he didn’t get bloodwork pulled, I figure we’ll do it this fall if we are travelling, and if not travelling we’ll [...]

Recently we’ve struggled with the decision to get Ezra, our kitten spayed, due to a heart murmur. We took her to the Ohio Alley Cat Resource spay/neuter clinic, and they called and said she had a heart murmur, scale 3 out of 4. So we help off getting her spayed. We took her to our [...]

Annie is currently on trial with Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding & Horsemanship to potentially be a therapy lesson horse. She passed her vet check and is settling in well, but maybe not well enough… I talked to the instructors this morning and they have led Annie in their classes twice (without a rider, just handler) and [...]

Sunday evening Brady and I had another great evening together! I’ve decided to try to rotate through exercises so we don’t do the same thing every time I’m there with him, it will help keep him, and me occupied! After posting my most recent blog on Brady, a few facebook friends left me some comments and reminded me of a few things… Brady is only a coming 2 year old… 10 minutes of his attention might be all I get! Kind of a follow up to #1, stop on a good note, even if it’s only after [...]

I was so optimistic today before heading out to the barn. After the last time I worked Brady, it didn’t go great. So I came home, read up and re-watched some of my training material, and developed a little plan for the next time I went out and worked with him. I made myself a [...]

Brady really is a great horse, and I usually treat him like he’s… Well, not a 2 year old! And he reminded me this past week that he is a spunky 2 year old. The horses are let out every morning, between about 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and brought back in between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – the geldings are turned out together, and [...]
