VIDEO! This morning we took Annie over to Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding & Horsemanship to start her 90-day trial as a therapy horse for their program. I got a little bit of video of her before and after we left. Annie loaded into the trailer nicely, she was a little hesitant, but she didn’t take one step back. She put [...]

I wasn’t going to write a blog tonight, but I can’t help it, I need to vent. It seems everywhere I turn online there’s some link or story with horses that’s sad or negative. It started with the story of an unfortunate palomino filly and her owner, someone I fully support and does a lot to support horses and rescue. The filly [...]

I’ve been thinking a lot about Brady and his training, if you want to see what we did during our first two ground work sessions, and what our “goal list” was, visit the last blog regarding Brady’s training (with video)… Over the weekend I reread and rewatched some of my training materials (most of which [...]

Last Friday we went to Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding & Horsemanship and watched one of their group lessons. In the lesson they had one child and two adult riders riding Snickers (thoroughbred gelding), Ben (percheron/QH gelding) and Bentley (haflinger/fjord gelding) and it was conducted in their indoor arena. They also have an [...]

VIDEO! Mr. Brady got out twice this week to get a little work done.. Well, 3 times if you count the farrier visit, but that’s all he had to do that day! I don’t want to do too much with Brady right now, as he’s a coming 2 year old (foaled May 2009) and just don’t want to stress his joints or anything. But I would like to get his ground work going so we can have a [...]

There are a lot of breeders out there, whether backyard, business, or otherwise. Some people are completely anti-breeding, and think no horses should be bred – of course that will never happen, it’s just not realistic… I think there is a place for responsible breeding and it seems there has to be. Many different breeds [...]

I think I’ve reached my decision on Annie, or at least the next step in my decision, haha. Angel has some serious interest, and it’s looking like she will be adopt by May. If she isn’t adopted by May, we are going to surrender her to a horse rescue. So, no matter what, Angel will [...]

I saw this ad on craigslist today, and it just really bothers me. They breed quarter horses, and these 5 foals aren’t the right color for what they breed for. I’ve never bred, but I’m sure it would always be nice to get the color you desired, but that isn’t how it works. I don’t [...]

Ok, so I was hesitant to be too personal and truly honest on my blog, but after talking with a good online friend and my boyfriend, I was convinced it’s better to just lay it all out there, so here it goes… Yes, my time is limited with school [...]
